Itsuannette Canales, born in Puerto Rico and raised Connecticut, USA is an Associate Marriage Family Therapist. She obtained a Master’s Degree in Family Therapy in 2017 from Southern Connecticut State University as a result of her desire to serve others. Through personal life experiences and faith, she realized that there was and is a wide-spread need to aid the hurting in a world where many look the other way or do not know how to help.
As a Clinician, Itsuannette has worked with couples, individuals, youth, and children utilizing diverse systemic treatment models. Itsuannette is a believer that people can be healed physically, emotionally and spiritually through the help of God and His agents in the mental health arena. She incorporates faith-based practices in her clinical work if requested by her clients. Itsuannette believes that change, progress and wellness can also come through faith and prayer incorporated with the various treatment model interventions. She strives to bridge the gap between mental health and faith-based practices and is aware of the created stigma around the two. It is with deep passion and desire that Itsuannette wishes to create awareness, share the faith, and be a vessel in bridging the gap!
